Baseball-Junior Scouts - 10150501

The Lake Forest Recreation Department’s Junior Scouts Baseball program will develop players both on and off the field, through a Travel Baseball experience, in an effort to represent themselves and the community in a first class manner.
To help the players accomplish this goal, our program consists of the following five facets: fundamentals, hard work, loyalty, discipline, and enjoyment. The ultimate goal of Junior Scouts Baseball is to prepare our young Baseball players for Baseball at the High School level.
The paid, Professional Junior Scouts Baseball Coaching staff will be managed by the Full Time Athletics Staff at The Lake Forest Recreation Department who will continuously train, mentor and support them throughout the season. Your coaches will develop lesson plans for their team, which will ensure safety, fun and progression in skill development throughout the course of the season.

Lacrosse-Illinois Girls Lacrosse Association - 20141201

The IGLA Summer Lacrosse League is for advanced-level Purple players looking for practices and games but at a lighter schedule than the Spring season. Mondays will be practices and games will be played on Wednesdays. To qualify for Summer Purple, players registering for Summer Purple must have either played Spring 2016 or Spring 2017 Purple OR have been notified by email that they have been assessed by IGLA Staff at the Purple level before. All IGLA programs focus on teamwork, sportsmanship, and personal development in a respectful environment led by positive coaching. Players receive equal playing and play in all positions. Coaches are HS players and parent volunteers.
Equipment - Stick, hard ball, goggles and mouthguard are required.
ALL Players MUST register at www.iglax.org for an assessment after they have registered through LFRD.

Racquetball League-Winter - 20161901

If you're interested in Recreational League play, this is the program for you. Recreation Center Athletics staff will schedule match-ups. If players cant compete on a scheduled time, its up to the players to reschedule the match and contact one another. Rescheduled matches must be communicated to Staff so that block of court space can be opened up to other members. A playoff tournament will follow the regular season. Prizes will be awarded.

Sign up now and start your child on the path to a lifetime of skills whether used for learning to swim or for competition. For more information, contact LFSC Coach Laurel Liberty at (847) 735-5372.
Mini-Ducks provides advanced swim lessons for water safe children ready to explore the transition from swim lessons to swim team. Classes build foundation skills for freestyle and backstroke with the goal of moving toward the Mighty Ducks. Placement within the class will be done on the first day of class by LFSC coaches. All swimmers must be able to independently use the restrooms and locker rooms. All club communication regarding emergency class changes will be done through email and phone. Please make sure LFSC has your contact information on the first day of class.
Required skills: Independent floating on front and back, independent use of kickboard for 10 meters
Equipment needed: youth competitive swim goggles.

Program provides advanced instruction for competitive strokes, starts, and turns. It also introduces children to swimming as a lifelong fitness activity. Final placement in the Mighty Ducks is done on the first day of class by LFSC coaches. Swimmers participate in Age Group Challenge Mini-Meets focused on reinforcement of practice skills as well as teaching them how swim meets work. Mighty Ducks swimmers must be able to swim 25 meters non-stop of freestyle and backstroke, follow group instruction, and independently use the restrooms and locker rooms. All club communication regarding emergency class changes will be done through email and phone. Please make sure LFSC has your contact information on the first day of class.
Required Skills: Freestyle 25 meters with rotary breathing, Backstroke 25 meters
Equipment needed: competitive swim fins and goggles.
